Your First Confident Step with AI
Understand AI in plain language, recognize suspicious requests, and try your first guided conversation.
Start where you are.
Who it is for
People who have heard about AI but have not tried it, or want a calmer place to begin.
Starting skills
No AI experience required.
Proposed format: 1 × 60-minute sessionClear goals. Useful skills.
- Explain what AI can and cannot do in two sentences.
- Recognize urgency, unusual payment requests, and identity impersonation in sample scam scenarios.
- Choose information suitable for a practice chat and complete one guided conversation.
Hands-on exercise
Use a fictional grocery-planning task to start a conversation, ask a follow-up question, and check whether the result fits. Discuss two suspicious-message scenarios without using real account information.
Learn, try, reflect.

Practice that earns
your confidence.
The learner explains AI without treating it as always correct, identifies two warning signs, and knows to verify a suspicious request through a trusted contact method.
Feedback and another try are part of learning. Attendance alone does not establish the level.
Between-class practice
Explain AI to someone you trust and try one low-stakes task. Bring a question to the next class.
Materials and access
Facilitator demonstration, practice account access where available, fictional task card, scam scenario cards, and a one-page privacy reminder.
Account and tool requirements will be confirmed before enrollment. Labs use fictional or approved material.
